Would you like to work in a highly specialized fetal medicine service within an international healthcare environment while further developing your expertise in prenatal diagnosis and the management of high-risk pregnancies?

On behalf of a leading private hospital in Dubai, we are seeking a consultant in fetal medicine for a contract of at least 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

The hospital is part of a well-established international healthcare group known for its high clinical standards, modern facilities, and excellent reputation. The patient population consists largely of international, European, and VIP patients who expect outstanding clinical care, communication, and service.

The position offers an annual salary of approximately €250,000–280,000, with the possibility of tax-free income.

About the role

As a consultant in fetal medicine, you will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with both routine and high-risk pregnancies. You will play a key role in prenatal diagnosis, fetal assessment, and multidisciplinary care planning for complex fetal conditions.

The position is ideally suited to specialists with extensive experience in fetal medicine, advanced obstetric ultrasound, and prenatal diagnostics who are looking to work in a modern and internationally focused healthcare environment.

You will work closely with colleagues in obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology, genetics, radiology, and other relevant specialties.

Typical responsibilities

• Fetal medicine consultations and assessments
• First-, second-, and third-trimester ultrasound examinations
• Prenatal diagnosis and counseling
• Management of high-risk pregnancies
• Assessment of fetal growth and placental function
• Diagnosis and follow-up of fetal anomalies and congenital conditions
• Multidisciplinary management of complex fetal cases
• Collaboration with Neonatology, Genetics, and other specialist teams
• Teaching and mentoring of junior colleagues and healthcare professionals
• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and clinical development

We are looking for someone who

• Is a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology
• Has completed formal subspecialty training in Fetal Medicine following completion of OBGYN residency training
• Has a minimum of three years of experience at Consultant level following specialist qualification
• Has extensive experience in prenatal diagnosis and fetal medicine
• Has advanced expertise in obstetric ultrasound
• Has excellent English communication skills
• Communicates confidently with patients and colleagues
• Maintains high professional standards with a strong focus on quality and patient care
• Thrives in an international working environment

Preferred candidate background

We are particularly interested in candidates who completed their specialist training and currently hold specialist recognition in one of the following countries: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Ireland, the United Kingdom (with CCT), Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, or South Korea.

These qualifications are highly regarded within the UAE licensing framework and typically allow for a streamlined licensing process.
