On behalf of a municipality in Vestland County, we are recruiting a Family Medicine Specialist for a permanent position in a well-established GP practice in Western Norway.

This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor who wants professional autonomy, a strong clinical environment, and a high quality of life surrounded by fjords, mountains, and stunning nature.

About the position

You will join a modern GP practice with three experienced GPs and one resident doctor. The available patient list currently consists of approximately 800 patients, with the possibility of increasing the list size over time if desired.

The municipality is committed to maintaining a supportive professional environment with skilled colleagues, experienced support staff, and a strong focus on quality of care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own patient list
• Diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients of all ages
• Preventive healthcare and chronic disease management
• Up to 20% municipal medical duties
• Participation in the local emergency care service rotation

Emergency care services

The municipality is part of an established intermunicipal emergency care collaboration serving five municipalities.

The emergency clinic is located next to the local hospital and offers:

• Well-organised out-of-hours emergency services
• Municipal acute care beds (KAD)
• Emergency medical communication services
• 24/7 support from experienced healthcare personnel
• This provides a safe and professionally rewarding environment during emergency shifts.
